Blaire's 5 Best - The Resort at Paws Up

In October, I was graciously invited to an educational trip hosted by The Resort at Paws Up in Montana. To be completely honest, I was not sure what I'd think of this place. My ideal vacation is sitting on a beach with a book in one hand and a drink in the other, not anything active, and this place screamed: ACTIVITIES! But I have promised myself to push myself out of my comfort zone and try new things... so off to Montana I went!

As I stepped off the plane in Missoula, MT and breathed in the fresh, crisp air, I knew I was in for a treat. & let me tell you... The Resort at Paws Up (or "Paws Up" as I will further refer to it as) exceeded all my expectations. It was essentially like a summer camp but it also allowed adults and is open year round!

I had the amazing privilege to stay in the luxury camps or "glamps" on property. There are 6 different groups of glamps all having their own identity - from sweeping views to being on the river bank and everything in between. The camps consisted of multiple tented rooms and one common area where you could eat meals or just hang out. I stayed in the North Bank Camp which was the only camp with an enclosed common area and with 3 bedroom tents.

While at Paws Up, the activities are limitless. I rode ATVs, shot clays AND a bow and arrow, went for a horseback ride and tried fly fishing. This was all within 48 hours! Oh and not to mention I also took a horse drawn carriage to a barbeque. So amazing!

Though I loved so much about Paws Up, I'll try to limit my list. Here are the 5 things I liked best about this incredible Montana resort:

  1. The Glamps. As mentioned above, I had the opportunity of staying in a glamp, and it was SO FUN. You had the feeling of actually camping with the amenities of a nice resort. A few of my favorite things about the tent were my patio overlooking the river and the heated blanket on my bed - essential for chilly nights!

*I do want to talk about the other types of accommodations. Paws Up also has the Meadow Homes, Timber Homes and Wilderness Estates. The Meadow Homes are the smallest and least private. The Timber Homes are great for families with the bedrooms upstairs being loft-style and not having a bathroom. This décor is not as heavy compared to the Wilderness Estates. And the Wildnerness Estates are your largest houses with bathrooms on both floors. These accommodations have hot tubs connected to each, and the glamps do not.

  2. The Number of Activities. Paws Up seriously has something for everyone! The activities which are seasonal can accommodate guests of all ages. For the more active, you can ride ATVs, rappel down a cliff or even do a Cattle Drive! And for something more leisurely, you can take a canoe ride, go fishing or take a short hike around the property.

  3. The S'moreologist. I mean... who doesn't want to indulge in a gourmet s'more prepared by a s'moreologist himself!? But really, this added detail puts a twist on the common camp dessert. And let me tell you, my s'more was DELISH! Graham cracker + marshmellow + strawberry infused white chocolate + caramel + a caramelized apple. SO GOOD!

  4. The Spa. Who doesn't want a massage in a tent!? These gorgeous, perfectly lined up, min-glamps housed your spa treatment for the next 60+ minutes. These tents overlooked the breath-taking sweeping plains and were picture perfect! This was something super unique.

  5. The App. As you can imagine, Paws Up is massive - over 37,000 acres! It's not feasible to walk from Point A to Point B. Though Paws Up gives each tent/house a car, you can request a ride from the non-stop circling Paws Up vans. And Paws Up has a very sophisticated and user friendly app that makes this process seamless and fool proof!

I had an absolute blast channeling my "inner cowgirl" and immersing myself in nature. Paws Up gives you complete access to the outdoors while being comfortable, luxurious and having impeccable service. This is the PERFECT place for families and friends to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and have some fun with Mother Nature!

If you feel like this is the place for YOU - let's get you there. I would love for you to experience this amazing resort during any season of the year!!
